So I've been mentioning Wack a few times: the anti idol company who has groups BiSH, EMPiRE, GANG PARADE and BiS 1&2. The point of Wack is to be differend and suprising in often in some weird surprising maybe negative way, but I really got surprised when I found this video:
So I needed to do some research. What just happened.
Wack Audition is like a reality show whose contestants are idols. Some of whom want to become idols and just to make it entertaining, why not torture some already-idols as well? In the end some get chosen to groups and changes in groups may happen. So it is an audition but like... A hunger games one where they have a camp for several days doing awful nonsense.
So there are lots of streams of the camp that fans can follow, and all the new trainees get cheered on as well. They for example need to do sit ups, write essays at night, run several kilometres... Lots of nonsense, but if you want to become a Wack idol that's what you have to do. And because the director Watanabe decides so, all the fans can do is to cheer on the idols and see what Watanabe decides to make them do. And if the idols wish to be Wack idols all they can do is so everything they're told.
This is totally not something I follow but I feel like it's part of Wack to keep its image of being something awfully different. But the music is good so... Just have to live with it.
It's like.. the ending ceremony of Wack Audition 2018. First all the groups have lives and all (when I watched this first I hadn't heard of Wack audition) and then... All they seem so serious?? Are some idols just about to cry??
The man on the left, the owner of founder and director of Wack, Junnosuke Watanabe starts saying which contestants go to which groups and hey let's also split BiS to two groups and all the girls are crying and whaat is going on. And oh let's add two members to EMPiRE and take one to BiS and the idols look so sad but heey it's good entertainment!!
