Following someone on social media

At the moment I don't really follow much famous people on social media. Lately I've been more interested in the content that the creators.

The one to follow I picked is the music producer/composer Yasutaka Nakata I've been talking about also before.

What's interesting about his social media usage is that he used to share pretty much nothing on social media. He was an unsocial music magician who didn't want himself to be shown too much. He just made the music and sometimes had DJ lives and there was just a staff twitter.

However, lately he's started to use Instagram pretty actively. Even surprisingly actively I'd say for him, I don't know whether he had a manager or something saying to do so or did he finally realize being famous is fun. I don't know.

His Instagram mostly consists of pictures with the artists he works with and videos of him playing. The latter of which I haven't really seen much before he started using Instagram.

Here https://www.instagram.com/p/Bqj5lSMBA6g/ he for example shows how he makes music, which is pretty rare for musicians, I guess? The song is the one I've mentioned before, Nakata x Daoko 'Bokura no Nettowaaku' (Our network). On Instagram stories I've also seen him playing his music with various instruments. It's interesting that he does that as he used to have zero communication with fans before. As I guess fans really like this kind of content.

I get a feeling that in the world of ours it's in the end kind of impossible to be popular and ignore social media. Because what I think Nakata used to be is more unsocial than the idea of him you get now from Instagram, as now based on Instagram he seems like any popular artist I guess? Taking fans into account and so. Or people change. Don't know.
